I have struggled with my weight my entire life. I will lose and then put on multiple times more than what I lost. I think my bottom was when we moved from NY to NC. When we left NY I weighed 320 pounds, after we got to NC I started feeling very ill and with in 4 months I weighed 400 pounds. At that point I asked the doctor about RNY and met with a surgeon I was weeks from scheduling this surgery and just had an awful feeling about this surgeon. So I backed out and thank God because weeks later  I was informed that my insurance had dropped him as a surgeon as he was not certified to do the surgery. Thank God for gut instinct. My next try was with a wonderful surgeon and I got very ill once again this time I was 430plus  which put the breaks on the surgery one more time. Which brought my next eye opener my little sister had a baby and I realized holding him the first time I wanted to see him into adult hood. As I traveled home to my husband after the babies birth I was rediculed on the plane for my size and then for the first time in the room that night saw my naked form in a full length mirror. That sight was a real awakening for me I was sick and tired of being fat of looking like that. I was worried about what my size put my husband through. So I started eating right and exercising what little I could. I have lost 36 pounds this year. However when I was cleared to try surgery again it was deployment time for us and I was on my way back to Illinois while my Husband was on his way to Iraq. So here I am one more time except this time I have decided on the lap band procedure. I go to the informational meeting given by Doctor Argotte on Thursday (march 26), and am praying that we can get my surgery pushed through very quickly as my husband will be home soon, and I would like to be post op before his return. Well I saw Doctor Argotte 3 times and when I called to change an appointment with him  a couple weeks ago I found he had left the office, then I got the letter saying he had lost his medical license in the state of Kentucky and had been asked to leave the office (in Illinois) due to breech of contract. Another set back. So I caled my primary care and told them what was going on and that I wanted to see Dr. Rohrshieb who I had heard nothing but good about. I saw him this past monday (June 1) and I really like him. I go for the remaining pre ops in his office on Wednesday and then we will go about getting tricare to approve this surgery.  Wish me Luck!
