Congrats on your approaching surgery date, Connie! Before you know it, it will be over and you will join the rest of us when we were early postops moaning about how on earth to get all the daily water, protein, and nutrition in. LOL. I read your profile and must say I have a 12 year old boy, a 20 year old girl, and a 31 year old daughter. Nothing like spreading out the kids, eh? LOL. HUGS and keep us updated!

Connie, I have been researching weight loss surgery for a few months now. I am planning on going to the same facility as you are. I have my consultation on Sept. 16th. I am anixous to get this started and to see if I get approved. I am married and a mom of 2. 13 and 10. In order to keep up with them... I need to lose this weight so I can be there for them. I also want to be happy and healthy. I have never been skinny. I wish you all the best. Please keep me posted. I really could use a buddy that is going through the same thing. My insurance is UHC PP0 as well. I am just so scared they are going to deny me. That is how my luck runs. Hope to hear from you soon. Take Care!

Hi Connie and Congrats on taking the steps toward better health and new life! I wish you the best experience with Dr. Barbara and the Barix team. I also want to invite you to join an email support group just for Barix (formerly known as Bariatric Treatment Centers) patients. It's a wonderful group--full of fun, friendship and support. I met with Dr. Barbara today, I had seen him at a recent seminar. I feel he is confident and I completely trust him and feel I am in good hands. I called when I got home to schedule some of my preop tests and the lady at the sleep clinic said oh my, I just had a cancellation for this coming Tuesday, (keep in mind today is Friday!!) Also while I was filling out my paperwork I meet a woman who works for the same company my husband does and she was having surgery today!! Seems like someones looking out for me. Keep me in your thoughts and prayers and I'll keep you updated. Oh by the way does anyone know of a good support group? Thanks
