Hello everyone, My name is Franni and I am from So. Calif, born and raised. I am 59 yrs young. I have raised 7 kids, my youngest is 16. I have 3 grandaughters. I work as a Lab Tech(assistant) for the Native American health Clinics. I have been in the medical field for 29 yrs..First 19yrs Resp. Therapy, saw too much death, got out of that and into Lab work. Ok..with that out of the way, I will say I had never been over weight, guess I thought I could just keep eating like I always had and nothing would happen..yeh right !!! I had a hysterectomy at age 43 (with a 5 mo. old baby at home) The doc told me my body isnt able to keep weight off too well after surgery, so I needed to cut my portions and watch what I eat..well I watched it alright...all the way from the fork to my mouth. I did not listen, and kept eating !!! Within 10 yrs I went from 120 to 223 lbs. That put me in a funk i could not get out of. I hated looking in the mirror and hated buying clothes !!!. At work bout 6 mo ago, 5 of my friends had just started the classes for WLS. I looked into it and followed right behind. We were all so very lucky because our INS. pays 100%. They make you jump thru alot of hoops ( Lol, Is that exercise?) to get there, but way worth it. All my friends have had their surgery and back to work, I have gotten so much info from them, as I ask alot of questions. I am done with everything now, I see my surgeon tomorrow, ( Loma Linda Medical Center) and a few more details...and I am all ready, prob will take INS bout a mo to get it approved. I can hardly wait. I am getting the Lap Band, and so, I read and read and read some more. Blessing to everyone on this life changing step, we are on we are all on it together...hugs, Franni
