"This hospital has an excellent bariatric coordinator. Donna Boehm is the solid foundation to weight loss surgery at this hospital. She will answer any question you may have at anytime. She is just a phone call away. THe day I had my surgery she actually came into my room and sat and talked with me and made me feel very very comfortable with the decision I had made and thank god for that decision. Donna you are wonderful and to this day I have found a wonderful, caring friend that I truely cherish. If you are thinking of having weight loss surgery and are unsure of the hospital choose River Oaks in Houston TX, you will be thankful you did.

"I honestly have to say that Dr. Miranda is one of the greatest Dr.'s I have ever seen. When I first met him, he looked so serious about the surgery, which at that point I was serious but not yet approved; so I did not want to get my hopes up and then be denied by insurance, so I could not be as serious as he was. He explained to me everything that could go wrong plus all the benefits of the surgery. I had went to him with the mindset I was going to do the Lap Band, but Dr. Miranda helped my change my mind and go with the Lap RNY, because he told me I would probably be more happy with the RNY. He never once told me not to do one or the other, he was just making sure I would be happy with my decision. rnThe day of my surgery, I was scheduled for 12:00 p.m. but Dr. Miranda was in helping with another Dr. and they told me I was then scheduled for 1:30 p.m. After I went down to get hooked up with the IV, Dr. Miranda walked into the room wanting to know why I was not in the surgery room yet? He was so upset, and at first I thought he was upset with me but he told me I did nothing wrong, he was just upset because the nurses were not doing there job. He is a very caring, wonderful doctor and I would totally recommend him to anyone considering to have this surgery in Houston. He does take his profession very serious and any question you may have Dr. Miranda will answer each and every one of them. Also when I go see him, he never rushes you like most Dr.'s do because he is just not after your money like most Dr's are. He cares about each patient and their concerns.
