I was weighed Tuesday at my 2 week post op and I have lost 15 pounds. I am extremely pleased. I knew that my clothes were fitting different, but was only expecting a 5-10 pound loss. I have been trying to keep busy moving around. My stomach and sides are still sore when I turn, stretch or bend over. I see the doctor again on the 15th. My goal is to be down another 5 pounds.

I got the band! Everything went great, better than expected. Spectrum Health has an amazing Bariatric Unit. Thank you Dr. Gawel and all the nurses.

I go tomorrow to see the nut., I am going to get some Unjury. Pretty tired of carnation instant breakfast. I also will see how much I have lost. I can tell I have definatly lost inches, my bra and shirts are fitting different. My legs look thinner. I am going to measure my arms, waist, legs, chest and neck tonight and keep track myself.

I gop back to work next week. That will keep me busy.

The nurse called and said I could have surgery on Aug 4th. I told them I'd like to wait to see if I'm getting called back to work in the next few weeks so that I know I will have insurance for longer than the next 3 months. I'm waiting to here back for about the week of Aug 16 or 23.

I went to see the surgeon yesterday. I was there for over 2 hours. I had so many questions. I feel like I got all of them answered, my only concern is that the surgeon has only done 30 bands since October. No one has had any problems so far, I was hoping he's say he did 100 over the past 2 years. I am waiting now to hear from the nurse on approval and such. I still might back out. I am just praying that God steer me in the right direction. I am hoping to be called back to work in the next month so there won't be any insurance issues after the band being right now I am covered for the next three months.

I got pink slipped this morning...2 days before summer break. That means I will have to cancel my surgical consult in July bc I will not have insurance. My hopes of having WLS will have to be put on hold for now. It is all in God's hands, I am praying that I get called back in the fall and then I can continue on with surgery.

This afternoon I go to the NUT, she will be looking over the 1200 cal diet I have been on by checking my journal. I am curious to see if I have lost any weight. I am also hoping to have my surgical consultation scheduled.

I went to the nutritionist. I am on a Pre Op diet consisting of 1200 cal, 30g of fat and at least 60g of protein. In 2 weeks I go back and she will look at my food journal. From there, if I followed the plan I will be seeing the surgeon.

I see the NUT tomorrow. I have been keeping a food journal since my PCP referred me to a WL surgeon in March. I am hoping I can get more questions answered and my surgical consult scheduled while I am there. I go June 1st to the NUT again and on the 3rd I have my scope done. I looks like I am almost there, I'm hoping to get a surgery date soon, as I know my insurace will already cover the surgery bc of my BMI.

It's that time of year again. And each years tends to get worse! Budgets cuts, I've been working for the school for nearly three years, there are  4 staff below me before I get pink slipped. I'm freaking out! I want/need the surgery and if I am pink slipped my insurace will end June 30th! That would mean no Lap Band. I'm trying to tell myself it is in God's hands and things like this are out of my control.

What if I do get a surgery date before the 30th and get pink slipped, should I go through with the surgery....and hope there are no complications afterwards? What to do?

I went yesterday to see the psyc. I thought it was going to be this long in depth appointment. I was there with her only 40 minutes. Everything looks good for me to continue on. I am going to be getting a scope done in the coming weeks. Next week I meet with the nutritionist.
