"Dr McMullen was very warm and welcoming right from the first moment that I met her. She immediately put myself and my Husband at ease. The entire staff at United Surgical Associates are the best. They go out of their way to get me answers of put me in touch with someone that could. The only negative thing that I have is that I felt that my case was not pushed hard enough when my insurance company over one weight in 2007. They did not want to do an appeal based on my co-morbidities. I had to wait almost a year to resubmit to my insurance company when that one weight was no longer in in the picture. The doctor and her PA have made it their mission to make sure that I know what to expect and what to do after surgery. I have already received the date and time of my post-surgical visit. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is considering having weight loss surgery in the NY/NJ area. I feel that surgical competence is of utmost importance, but having a good bedside manner makes the entire package more complete. "
