I just had my lap band surgery on 12/29/08 at St. Vincent in Carmel Indiana.  I am only 3 days post but I am feeling unbelievably good.  I really expected the worse only to recieve the best.  My weigh in was 266.9 before surgery and I am not sure if my scales match up exactly to what the hospital scales say but according to them, I am at 255 today.  Right or wrong, it still gives me encouragement.  My goal weight is 170-180.  My bmi was only at 36 but I have some health problems that I look forward to getting rid of which is my main reason for having this surgery.  I am just about 48yrs. old now and I sure didnt have this surgery to change my appearance.  I am happily married for 20+yrs. now and nothing about that is going to change.  As a matter of fact, when I lose my weight I may look ugly. LOL   But thats ok, I done it for my health and as long as I have my health, that is all that matters to me.   So far so good.
