One-Year and 110 pounds lighter!

Mar 22, 2010

Well today marks my one year anniversary since my RNY surgery. I am feeling great and don't ever regret my decision to have had the surgery.

It's been 12 weeks!

Jun 15, 2009

It's been 12 weeks since my RNY surgery and things are great! I'm down 50 pounds and feeling good although I find I need more sleep than I did pre-surgery. I do feel that I have more energy during the day, however. I have gotten rid of my CPAP machine and lots of my meds, my insulin use has gone from over 200 units per day to just over 20. Hopefully in the next month or two that will go away. Other than my heart bypass surgery I think this is the best thing I have done for my health and think anyone who has medical conditions that would be helped by it should consider it as a tool to help improve their health. It's not a magic bullet but it makes getting the weight off "doable".

The Journey to Better Health

Mar 01, 2009

This journey began back in July, 2008 when I atteneded a seminar present by Dr. Brian Lahmann, one of the partners of BMI located in Joliet, IL. After the seminar I decided to move forward with the decision to further expolor my surgical otpions.

Part of the information packet from the seminar was a twenty-page questionnaire. I completed this within the next couple of days and faxed it back to their office. An appointment was set up for an initial consultation with Dr. Lahmann. My partner of almost 10 years, Randy, attended this consultation so that he could have some of his questions and conerns addressed. I firmly believe that if you don't have support from your immediate family things will be much more difficult.
