Wow. It's been 5 years since I've been back here. Now I'm back for a whole different reason. I want to warn those wanting WLS about a downplayed, but very real and deadly risk: alcoholism. Some will try to tell you to be careful when you drink alcohol and other will try to tell you about addiction transfer. It's all BS. Every gastric bypass patient should NEVER drink alcohol. Everyone is at risk for alcoholism, even if you've never had a drinking problem and it doesn't run in your family.
