7-18-07 Lap- Band surgery
7-26-07 2nd Lap Band surgery. The surgeon admitted she had placed my Lap-Band on my esophagus and that is why I was not able to swallow fluid and had horrible pain in my esophagus. I had lost 17lbs in 8 days and was severely dehydrated. I switched sugeons after this to Dr Evanson to do my fills.
12-07 I had lost 55 lbs but was holding there.
7-08 Dr Evanson is concerned with the pain I am having in my esophagus and inability to eat solid foods. He pulled all the fluid out of my Lap-Band in his office.
8-08 Upper GI showed esophagitis and a slipped band. The band has to be removed and since I have already had the band replaced once Dr Evanson does not want to replace the band again.
9-08 I am informed that my option is take off the Lap-Band and do nothing or take off the Lap- Band and convert to RNY. I chose the conversion to RNY.
10-29-08 Surgery- Dr Evanson said that was much more scar tissue around the Lap-Band and it took longer to remove and clean out the tissue. He is keeping me another day in the hospital so instead of going home 10-31 I go home 11-1-08.
