Trouble meeting protein requirements
Jul 26, 2019
I understand in those first 1-2 weeks out you spend do much time trying to get/keep things down that getting your 60-80 g of protein is not always the main objective. But here I am 4 weeks out and I still struggle with getting myself to 60g and staying within the caloric guidelines (I’m just moving to 500-700) For the longest time I could only handle 1 shake a day (because it takes me so long to drink it) and my other food choices may only offer 10g protein per serving. I am working part time thru the summer (I work at a school) and I’m outside so I’m constantly trying to balance keeping hydrated with consuming protein. Sometimes I feel like there isn’t enough time in the day to think about what and when to eat! Any suggestions?
Just introducing myself...

Hi all! My name is Sue and I'm 53 years old, divorced, with 4 kids ages 18-26. My sleeve surgery was 6/25/19 and I've lost 30lbs from pre-op diet until now. I found this site while looking for answers after hitting a wall with weight loss for the past 1.5 weeks, and I'm so happy to find a community to talk with. My kids have been great supporting me but I still feel like people dont understand what I'm going thru. Aside from obvious health reasons, one of the deciding factors for my having surgery was "quality of life". I'd lost the ability to focus on myself so I think, as my last child goes off to college in a month, putting "me first" has become my priority. A non-scale victory I'm working toward is to travel somewhere far away and be able to walk everywhere - from the airport to site-seeing, without pain or being out of breath! I've already been inspired by so many of your stories and hope to gain invaluable advice!
