July 2012 - Check in!
Jul 08, 2012
Sometimes I cannot believe how many years have actually gone by since my bypass. I am still so thankful that I made that decision! I am currently right around 180lbs, and have been loosing weight again steadily since I delivered twins 5 months ago! I have 20lbs more to go and am feeling good about reaching my goal in the next couple months. I've been doing pretty good about keeping the pantry and freezer purged of most of the processed and junk food and relying most heavily on meat from our local CSA and fresh fruits and vegetables. Sometimes I am not quite sure what to fix - I am such a recipe fanatic, and when you're trying to eat simply you pretty much don't use recipes I'm finding! You just season meats lightly and same for the veggies! No sauces and things most of the time. I did make baked ziti tonight with lots of onion and mushrooms and nice chunky spaghetti sauce, so we still have our carbs too, I just try to not make it the base and focus of most meals. I track my calories on SparkPeople and do really well with staying on track and loosing consistently when I do that.
My husband and I have discussed a possible full body tuck procedure in another year or so - I'd like to do one more surrogacy pregnancy and then get it done afterwards. My legs and stomach will never look "normal" without medical help and I could just live with it and sometimes think I probably will rather than go through a major medical procedure, but then I think of just how great it would be to not hate those two parts of my body every time I look at them!

Getting My Body Back Post-Baby!! :)
Jan 31, 2011
I'm now 2.5 months post-partum and working it out again! I've been doing P90X for 5 full weeks so far and am down 5lbs since starting. I still have 10lbs to get to my pre-pregnancy weight and 20 to get back down to my lowest weight since bypass surgery.
Hoping to actually get pregnant for MYSELF this year! Ack!! Our son is now 12 years old, and yes I've had 2 other pregnancies since then but having one for ourself is huge and scary - starting all over! But I'm really excited about the prospect, and more motivated to get the last of this pregnancy weight off before starting again! :)

2010 and pregnant again!
Jun 28, 2010
I'm currently 20 weeks pregnant for my second Gestational Surrogacy journey. I got down to about 170lbs before getting pregnant and am currently about 181. I think my weight continues to be a focus and struggle for me, but overall I'm pretty happy with how things have been going. I've been using www.babyfit.com for meal planning to help make sure I get the right amount of calories and that they're GOOD calories. If I don't have some sort of guidelines it seems WAY too easy for me to end up eating out a few times a week and the pounds just pile on when I'm not paying attention!
I'm hoping to stay healthy and maintain a healthy weight throughout this pregnancy and I will look forward to getting back to my P90X workout routine after delivery to try to help shed any excess gain and keep working on my own personal health, wellness, and fitness!!

Starting the 5-day Pouch Test tomorrow!
Jul 27, 2008
I'm going to do the 5-day pouch test with another GB friend of mine. I think the biggest change is going to be the no drinking 30 minutes before/after eating - something I have been bad about!!
I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes, and seeing if it helps kickstart a little more weight loss!!

Working for it again!
Apr 23, 2008
With all the ups and downs in my weight history, its good to be taking control again and working for a positive change! I'm enjoying the weight loss, and the friendship I've found at SparkPeople. The P90X program is brutal, but is WORTH IT!!
