Well, it’s official! You’re on the losing side. The trumpets are blaring, the cymbals are crashing and the drums are drumming – all for YOU! I hope that all went well for you! You’ve been out of surgery now for a little over a month – YIPPIE!!! Your journey will have moments to “pause” - Feel free to look at my profile and see my ups and downs and know I’d not change a thing with anything I’ve experienced. Everything was worth it! – I’d like to impart some words of wisdom for when it does occur - remember these wise words whispered by Confucius – “It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop.” Be patient. You didn’t put it on over night, it won’t come off over night (DARN IT!)…Don’t forget to update your profile at least monthly and take lots of pictures…the transformations will make your jaw drop!!! Well I did it! Praise God! It's done, I was expecting I guess the worst and because of thatI was determined to have the best! The surgery went well, After surgery like a couple of hours later I got up to pee and wow it felt like I still had to but thats another story (smile) anyway after I got out the bathroom I went for a walk in the hallway, The next day was good too, Walked alot! I was up from like 7am - 1pm sitting in the chair, walking ect,, The nurses through out the day were GREAT! I didn't care for the over night nurse the first two nights she had a reall attitude problem but I didn't allow it to get to me. Lets see well I had the surgery on wednesday. I went home on sat. My husband has been so great! He has everything already prepared for me so while he is at work he knows I am getting in my meals and protein! I thank God for him! Lets see this monday is my first day home alone and it was a little BORING! Since I live in an apartment going up and down stairs I really cant do to well so i stayed in walked around the apaprtment not mush to do, I am doing good not sick eating correctly! I am just ready for this new life of mine! To God be the glory! Well Thank you all for you prayers and support and I am here as well if anyone needs me Madelyn

<b><I>Madelyn, Just checking in to say</I> - <u>FELIZIDADES / CONGRATULATIONS </u><I> - for deciding to take this life-changing step to becoming a more healthier you! I hope everything goes as planned and that you have a speedy recovery. Some words of advice: Please remember to keep positive thoughts at all times. When in doubt – ASK! Keep records of everything, including photos (makes a great scrapbook that you can look back on when you reach goal) and please keep your journal updated because you never know whom you might be helping. You will be in my thoughts. ~ Kelly</b></u>

I had my first fill today. Too soon to tell but since it is my first fill and I have a large band I doubt I will feel much yet. I have kept my eating under control. It has been 5 weeks and I have lost 19 pounds. I do not expect it to stay at this pace but I sure love it when it is. I stayed with Midwest and my fill was painless. I was nervous but no worse than one of my insulin shots. Everyone hang in there. Patti 7/25/05 273/254

<b>Congratulations, </b>your special day is almost here! I suspect you are experiencing a range of emotions right now. The week before my surgery I was on a natural high, almost a euphoric state of mind. I couldn't believe I was getting that "second" chance ...to LIVE life again. I wish you all the success and happiness that comes with being healthier and thinner. Just remember your overall attitude plays a large role in your recovery, keep it POSITIVE and ask lots and lots of questions. This is a new learning experience for all that choose WLS and we draw so much from each other. There can be a few challenges along the way, but no worse then sitting on the sidelines - confined by our overweight shells. You're about to break free, enjoy and embrace all the wonderful "moments" that come with this journey. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers for a successful and uneventful surgery. <i> "The key to happiness is dreams, the key to success is making those dreams come true"</i> .....[I've lost 230 lbs with this surgery and have been at goal for a year now.
