WOW
Oct 17, 2013
WOW is what I think when I think about the last year! One year ago I had my first appointment to have weight-loss surgery, and now I am down one-hundred pounds from my highest weight!! I'm still loosing steadily, although it is not as much as it was at first! :-) I'm so thankful I was given this opportunity and I pray that I can stay off the food addiction wagon!
6-weeks post-op
Jul 09, 2013
Well, I am not 6-weeks post-op!! I can't believe it!! It seems like just yesterday! :-) I get to start raw-vegetables and fruits without skins this week! Wohoo!! :-) (One at a time, of course!)
The only thing I'm having trouble with thus far is staying hydrated and constipation, which go hand-in-hand. Sipping on drinks all day makes me feel as though I am going to get sick. Has anyone else had this problem (either/or problem). What did you do to aid in this issue? I've been taking Ducolace and M.O.M. sporadically, which helps, but it's still a problem.

One week post-op!!!
Jun 04, 2013
Well, I did it!! EEK!! Even though I told my fiance' "why did I do this," as I'm sitting in the recovery area; thankfully this was just the medication talking and extreme nausea and vomiting!! :-) I feel 1,000, million times better today!! :-) My small incisions are starting to heal, I'm getting this "eat/drink/take a pill" scheme down :-)
I'm on full liquids and trying stuff like low-fat cream of shrimp, low-fat cream of asparagus, and sugar free pudding! :-) I can't wait for this weekend to get some chili and put it in a blender for pureed foods :-)
Now I'd like to take a second to recommend a product, and where you can get it cheaply! :-) It's called ISOPURE PLUS- PROTEIN DRINK. Each drink (8 fluid oz) has an additional 15g of protein in it, which is awesome for those days you just need a little more, but don't want to test your protein powder, or food! :-) I will attach the link to the website with the cheapest 6/pk or singles I have found!! They leave a little phlegm taste in your mouth, but it's not terrible at all! :-) http://www.dietdirect.com/isopure-plus-rtd-alpinepunch-protein-drink.html

Surgery is tomorrow, hopefully...
May 27, 2013
So, I've been on clear liquids since yesterday. I started getting sick last night and haven't been able to stop today. Also, have a killer headache. I'm not sure what it's related to, but I hope it does not cancel or postpone surgery!

Surgery is in less than a week
May 22, 2013
It's been a "busy" few months...finished with my semester at school, turned 30, got engaged and next week will finalize the month of changes with bariatric surgery! I'm excited beyond belief! :-) I'm taking a week off work after surgery, and I am soooooo excited to use this time to take care of myself for a change! :-) I'm going to get 12 inches cut off my hair this Saturday before surgery, and I plan on doing A LOT of walking, if I have the energy! :-)
Thanks for reading! Good luck and God Speed
Finally have a surgery date
May 06, 2013
I finally have a surgery date: Tuesday, May 28th! EEK! I posted on Facebook that "my life will change on May 28th," but now that I think about it, my life has already changed! I quit smoking almost 4 months ago (that anniversary is tomorrow), have decreased my soda intake, decreased starches and carbohydrates dramatically! So although my physical state will change, my mental state has been changing over the last six, seven months!
EEK, almost surgery time
Mar 15, 2013
Well, I just completed my 6 month nutritionist visit and I have learned so much over the last six months. I am ready for surgery, just have to have a follow-up ultrasound, finish my bi-pap treatment, and complete an analysis of urine for smoking metabolites. I’m nervous, but in a good way, as this life-changing event pushes forward, for what the future holds. I notice my anxiety is increased times five-thousand, and it is affecting everything in my life. Hopefully school starting again next week will help with my thoughts.
