Gayland Simms

"I had a VSG on 11-29-11 and had a very good experience, no problems. Dr. Sims office staff is great and even though he's very blunt, to the point, and lacks a little bedside manner I've been very happy with the care recieved. I'm a nurse so I know personality and lack of bedside manner doesn't mean he's a bad Dr. He has a new female partner if your looking for a more touchy feely kind of experience she would most likely fit the bill. Also Providence hospital in Waco rocks! The staff is very educated about bariatric surgery, they give you a booklet with all the pre-op, post-op, nutrition, what to expect etc. and you attend a 1 hour nutrition class with the nutritonist then a 2 hour group meeting with a nurse which is a Q and A but all about nutrition also. I found them very informative. I had considered surgery 2 years earlier with another surgeon and hospital and didn't feel very informed, just had a gut feeling so I didn't have it."
