I started this long journey in Jan.07. I wanted the band. My insurance denied me the first time after taking 3 months to decide. Finally got an approval and a surgery date for May 07. I went for pretesting at St. Vincent and failed big time. Heart problems.At age 41 I was sent to Cleveland Clinic with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy {an enlarged septum} and had to have open heart surgery. What a shock.Disappointed and in pain I never thought I would ever be able to have the band.I asked my cardiologist if it would be possible to have the band and she replied "What are you waitng for?" Cardiac clearance would be nice. Finally on November 26, 2007 I was banded by DR. Ben- Meir at St. Vincent Hospital.
