Frustrated!
Dec 01, 2009
Well, I haven't posted anything here lately because I have nothing to post.
I haven't lost a single pound for the last two weeks and three days! I am following my diet....certainly can't cheat....I'm a dumper!
Two weeks ago, I had to go back to the hospital to have my stoma stretched via an endoscope with a balloon on the end of it. I sure hope it doesn't close up again. I could barely eat anything and the pain was so bad when the food got stuck. I had to go back to liquids for 5 days. You'd think that I would have lost something during that time but "NO", not me.
I don't know why I can't lose anything and I am FRUSTRATED all to hell!!

One month post op
Nov 07, 2009
It has been one month now since my surgery.
I am still having some issues with eating. Still dumping on some foods and having quite a bit of trouble with food getting STUCK. The pain in my chest lasts for more than an hour and the "foamies" are beyond gross. I am going to see the surgeon on Tuesday, so I will let him know what has been going on. I have a feeling that I am going to have to have my stoma stretched. Not looking forward to that.
I am down about 25lbs. now. It doesn't really show yet, although, my underwear feels a little looser. (I have no problem if the butt wants to be the first to go!)
I have been working since 2 weeks post-op and am doing very well, physically, no pain at all.
I'll try and post a little more often.

2 weeks post-op
Oct 19, 2009
I went back to work today. Thankfully, I am still on modified work due to a knee injury. I know that I could not have done my regular job. I was rather tired after today.
Pureed food, .......not a fan! I tried some refried beans with a little taco sauce and melted cheddar. Not bad. Really could have used a tortilla scoop or something with it though. I don't know what else I am going to do for this week when it comes to eating pureed food. I just don't like having my food pre-chewed. Yuck!
I am anxious to start REAL food. I am craving my chicken taco-salad. I used to eat it all the time when I was on Atkins. Love it.
Hmmm.....time for a protien drink.

Day 13 Post-op

Well, it's a done deal. Five holes, (one extra for ON-Q Painbuster), kidneys afloat with lots of liquids, and I do believe I am on my way to better health.
My protien shake were giving me a bit of a fight for the first few days. I just couldn't stand the sweetness. I have, however, combatted this problem. I now use UNJURY, unflavoured protien powder and add it to a tall glass of Sugar-free Carnation Instant Breakfast drink, and thin it with skim-milk. Problem solved. My protien goes down the hatch and I have no complaints.
As for the rest of my full liquid diet, I eat (drink) rather plainly. I am mostly subsisting on 1% cottage cheese topped with Sugar-free orange jello. Yummy! I do, however, have to chew the living daylights out of the curds. Other than that, I enjoy my chicken broth and 100% tomatoe juice.
On Monday, I start on pureed. Not sure how I'm going to like that! I don't really care for pre-chewed foods, especially meats. I think., though, that I can have my refried beans. I'm going to check on that one. I sure hope so, because I love refried beans.
