"My experience with this hospital was a pleasant one. Everyone I came in contact with was very nice.(Admitting, 7th floor, OR holding, OR staff, and the 6th floor). The nursing staff on 6Goodson was great. I especially liked Audrey, Sabrina, and Mark. These were the people who mostly looked after me during my stay. I also thought alot of Wayne (he took vitals). He was always so nice, polite, and friendly when he came in to check my vitals. The thing that I liked most about my hospitalization was having Debbie Estep, Bariatric Coordinator at my side. Debbie met me when I first came in the morning of surgery and stayed with me until I was taken to surgery. It helped take away alot of my anxiety and nervousness. Debbie also visited me daily. This meant SO much. She is a true asset to Carraway Hospital and to Dr. DeWitt. I didn't mean to leave Dr. DeWitt to last, because he is number one in my book. He is such a competent surgeon and a great person. He is also an asset to Carraway Hospital."
"My first impression of Dr. DeWitt was that he was a very competent surgeon and compassionate person.
I saw him for my post-op recheck today (I will be three weeks post-op on 6/26), and he was as nice as ever.
His office staff was very friendly.
There was nothing that I disliked about him or his office staff.
Future patients should know that not only is he open and honest, but he is very caring.
He emphasizes alot on aftercare. You have to go to a mandatory diet class prior to your surgery. This is so you know what he expects from you.
He does have a structured aftercare plan. He lets you know what and when you can eat it, advises to exercise, and has you to have follow-up visits.
He addressed the risks and complications of surgery very honestly.
I would rate him a 10 out of 10.
His surgical competence and bedside manner are both wonderful.
I would also rate is office staff a 10. His Bariatric Coordinator, Debbie Estep is also a 10. She is a true asset to Carraway Hospital and to Dr. DeWitt."
