I am a 36 yr old mother of 2 beautiful daughters and happily married to a wonderful man. Weight has always been an issue for me. I was always the chunky one in the group. I've deceided that I want my family to be proud of me and not embarrassed by me. I want to be able to do everything I can with my family. We enjoy camping, snowmobiling and I enjoy taking the girls to the beach. I went to Dr Iqbal's office for the first time 4/20/06. The Dr and office staff were very nice and very helpful. Dr Iqbal answered alot of questions that both me and my husband had and told me what the next step was. I am hoping to have the surgery as soon as possible.

Completed with requirments from doctor so he can submit information to insurace company. Just waiting eagerly!

Still waiting for the insurance approval. I called the insurance company again today and they at least have some information on me now. They need more information from the doctors office and then all should be okay.

INSURANCE APPROVED!!!!! Well, now I'm nervous. I have to go to the doctors July 13 for information on what I do next. Hopefully, I can have the surgery soon!

SURGERY DATE!!!!!!!!!!!! I had an appointment with the Doctor today and my surgery is scheduled for September 8th. I was hoping to have it sooner, like sometime in August, but the Doctor is going on vacation. I guess I will just have to wait. I have a couple appointments that I need to have done before then anyway. I'm looking forward to the surgery but also getting nervous now that it is scheduled.

Well all the pre-admission testing is complete. Just waiting for the last Dr. appt before surgery.

Dr's office called and asked if they could change the surgery date. What was I going to say "NO"? I don't think so. Surgery is now set for September 6th. Not much of a move but it has really made things seem so real and my nerves are a wreck. Appointment tommorrow with Dr. at 5p last visit before the big day!

Well, I had surgery on the 6th at 530 pm. That was the worst time in the world to give someone for wls or any surgery for that matter. All went well I was only supposed to be 3 hrs at the most but I didn't get out of recovery until 11pm.

Had my first follow up and boy was I shocked to find out that I had lost 20lbs. That was encourging for me.

Well, I'm not real sure how I am doing I am down 61lbs and I just don't know if that is where I should be. I have really been glad I went through with this I feel really good and I'm starting to get some self esteem.

Here I am long time no typing. LOL. Well I am doing really well< as far as I am concerened. I am down 115lbs and feel really great. The Dr would like me to loose about 20 more but if I don't that is ok. I would not change anything about this decision I made to have the wls I am glad I did it!!!!
