My story is fairly usual... I have struggled with weight issues all of my life and have been on one continuous diet after another.  In addition to my weight issues I was also born with a foot disorder that causes severe pain and breaking of the bones.  This has always limited the amount of activity that I could perform.  Two years ago I decided to pursue foot surgery to correct the problem.  The surgeon decided to take on the right foot first, then we would correct the left.  Well, that was two years ago and I am worse today than the day-before surgery.  I now walk with a horrible limp and was wheel chair bound for 6 months. Another 6 months in a cast and crutches.

Although I had always struggled with weight issues I did workout as much as possible and was successfully able to fit into a size 12.  After my foot surgery, lack of ANY exercise and of course adding depression into the equation, I gained nearly 90lbs.  The added weight added pain to my feet, yet I could not exercise to get the weight off. It really was a double edge soared!

After much investigation, trial & failure of diets I choose to have the by-pass surgery. I am now 9 months out and have lost 110 lbs, feeling great!  I have had no complications as a result of the surgery.
