Robert Caulkins

"Dr. Caulkins is very understanding. I never feel rushed and if I have very many questions he will sit and talk with me for as long as I need to talk. He is also an encouragment to his Pt."

David Simonowitz

"I liked Dr. Simonowitz right away. He did my first surgery when I had the VBG (vertically banded gastroplasty) I think it was in 1992 I know it was October One thing about him is you must ASK questions he will answer anything and will take the time to do so but he doesn't voluntarily give out some of the things you need to know. He also dose not have a follow up program but I think this time I am much more informed and have a plan to keep coming to this site and to go to a support group. Also the Dr. who did my psychological evaluation suggested that I get into some counseling. I am going to ask my PCP for a referral. I have a lot of confidence in Dr. Simonowitz. He is the chief of surgery at Overlake. "

Overlake Hospital

"This hospital and the staff there where great. The only problem I had was when I needed to go to the x-ray area to have some testing done. I had to drink this gross stuff and then they took pictures as I drank. When I first came into the room in my bed. It was like the whole room freaked. I also thought that one of the girls left the room laughing but I was not sure. They where worried that their tables could not handle my weight. Someone ask how much I weighed and I said well on Monday when I had surgery I was 526. And they said So how much do you weight? The aide that was with me knew that the bed had a scale in it and so he weighted me and told them how much.(I had already lost 17 pounds!) I was then taken back to my room because the table could only take 350 pounds. There where a lot of calls and I was then taken back down to have the test done while I stood in front of the precious table! I thought at first it was just me that thought everyone in the room freaked out but the aide with me said no he felt it also. He reported it when they gave report. I was told that you never say out loud what someone weights, the person wanting to know should have come over and looked at what it said."
