Michelle, Just read your post about your family...sheeesh, arent our loved ones lovely sometimes? Just exercise, exercise, exercise, As young as you are your skin is probably pretty elastic. My sister lost about 100lbs around your age and looks terrific. She did end up getting a tummy tuck...BUT, her tiny tummy bothered her, it was not really noticeable. I never thought she really needed one. But it made her feel better about herself and the way her clothes fit, so it was the right thing to do. Try not to let them bother you, ( I know wayyyy easier said than done)... I bet your are going to LOOK and feel terrific!! Happy Holidays :o)

Good luck, Michelle, on your journey. I agree that waiting is the hardest part. I'm pre-op (my date is 2/12) and I've discovered by encouraging others it's making my time go by faster, too. After I had my surgical consultation I asked my primary care doctor and an orthopaedic doctor who had treated me to write letters on my behalf supporting the surgery. I also had my psych evaluation done before submission to insurance. All of that took another 2 weeks after the consultation and before the submission to insurance for approval--but I was approved the same day it was submitted. The surgeon submitted everything at once. I know all insurance companies are different, but maybe the more you submit upfront the better chance you'll have an a quick approval. Good luck and God bless!

Hey Michelle. I quit chewing about 10 years ago, so I know it'll be tough, but it must be done. You'll be glad you did in the long run. Take care and best of luck!

Hiya Michelle. I'm a smoker too, and at my consultation, my surgeon was so adamant about my quitting that he said if he detects even a trace of nicotine in my system he'll cancel my surgery, send me home, and refuse to reschedule me for another two months. Scary!! I have two packs left, and then eeeeek! But I want this surgery, I NEED this surgery, so the world will have to deal with my quitting smoking! lol. Hang in there, and know that there is at least one other person going through quitting with you, if that's what you choose to do. Good luck!!

Congratulations on choosing to have weight loss surgery.(wls)You have made a smart decision. Stick with it. You need to quit smoking. It will seriously impact on your recovery and your ability to come through the surgery. Most octros will make you promise to quit. They will be able to tell if you have when they go to put you to sleep and some will not proceed.Stop now.It will show your level of commitment. Good luck.I wish you the best.Blessings,

MICHELLE~~ Don't worry about that hateful comment. I know that it hurt, but they are just stupid and mean. ~~BEST WISHES ON YOUR WLS JOURNEY~~ May the world hug you today with its warmth, and love.....Pray it whispers a joyful tune in your heart.....And may the wind carry a voice that tells you there is a friend sitting in another corner of the world wishing you well!~~
