3/13/03 OOPS! i was told i havent updated my page, i thought i had. so here goes. i got out of the hospital on monday, 3/10/03. i weighed 30 lbs more than when i went in. my abdomen was so bloated from edema and gas from the procedure that i could hardly move. also my legs were really full of edema and my feet too. i have been slowly losing it but yesterday lost 8 lbs, which was a little much for one day. this morning i weighed 312.5, this evening i was about 309, so its still coming out. thank god! i was struggling to get my protien in at first, now its going better, but im struggling to get my water in. im not used to this sipping stuff, i usually chug water. so thats next on my agenda of things to learn to do. i feel a little better every day, but what i really want to know, is when do i get warm? all you posties know what thats about. :) mom leaves in a few hours to go home. she has been so awesome but i dont need her as much anymore and she has things she needs to get back to after 2 full weeks of taking care of me. how do you ever thank somebody enough or repay them for all the love and support they give you? and all of you guys. you are wonderful! i honestly cannot express what all your well wishes have meant to me. Hey you keep your chin up and remember if you don't feel safe then make sure your doctor orders visiting nurses for you to come in every day until you are okay with it! You have been in my thoughts and prayers and just get well soon! Everyone misses you in the room! Take care and keep safe. God Bless you honey! Anna

Camille -- I've been watching this site & praying for you every day. Thanks for posting -- it's so great to hear from you personally. I am really glad to hear that you are doing better. I have been praying for you every day and hope that your edema will flow like rain in Seattle soon. You have lots of friends here and if your mother isn't able to stay, we will help you somehow. Don't worry!

hey everybody, i was able to get online for a few mins thanks to a wonderful nurse here at the hospital. thanks for all the well wishes. i tried to come into chat for a quick hello but i guess the hospital has those types of things blocked. i am still battling the edema hardcore, but other than that things are going ok. my abdomen feels like a huge pumpkin and my thighs feel like cinder blocks. big, heavy, cant move them or my joints. im am walking as much as possible, which is actually quite a bit. i just want this water out of me. doc thinks i will be going home tomorrow. that scares me a bit since i cant even bend to wipe myself, even with tongs or antyhing else. so we will see. mom has been the greatest ever! she thinks she is going to head back to colorado on thursday or friday, i think if i am still fighting this water, i will feel abandoned at that point, but we will see. my scars are not so bad. i have one about 3 inches or so that goes straight down from my belly button and a few other little ones on my belly that should just blend right in with all the stretch marks that are already there. lol. oh yea, my kidneys were shutting down the first few days after surgery, apparently the docs were REALLY scared, bp was down to 57/40, had bloody urine, etc but thats all ok now. i dont even have an iv anymore. just trying to push fluids and get rid of the edema. thanks again for all the well wishes, i will come chat as soon as i can! love and hugs for you all!!! ~snuggs

I just got off the phone with Camille, and she is feeling pretty bad. It seems she is having problems with her kidneys trying to shut down. She has edema really bad, and was dehydrated, so they are working on that...and her blood pressure is doing better...was running 60/40...and they were really worried about her...she is trying to stay in good spirits, but starting to get depressed....from sitting in the hospital, and wanting the pain part to be over..I reassured her it will all feel better in the end, and worth it...*S*...Ill post more when I have it....take care and God Bless....
