I had my gallbladder removed on October 17, 2007. My gallbladder went down hill very quickly. It was functioning fine before the surgery and within 3 months it was functioning at 7%. If anyone had read my question a lil while ago the reason I was having those problems was my gallbladder. I am still having some problems with pain, nausea, and vomitting but I am soldiering through. I am not where I would like to be at weight speaking but I have done quite well considering having two surgeries back to back. I am 4 sizes down and loving it! Thanks to everyone for their comments and help. It was greatly appreciated.

July 15, 2007/Nothing can stop me now!

Jul 15, 2007

Well everything hadn't gone as smoothly as I would have liked or planned but here I am about a month away from having my surgery because I choose not to give up and to give myself a happy future. I have two health insurances.....United HealthCare and Employee Insurance through my job. I called both insurance companies to ask if they would cover any bariatric surgery or anything related to it....surprise, surprise both companies told me that they do not pay for any type of bariatric or weight loss surgery and they do not pay for anything related to it! I asked if there were any exceptions or ANYTHING at all that I could do to change their minds....haha waste of breathe! Well anyways I was discouraged and bummed out but I wouldn't let that stop me. I made an appointment with Dr. Walter Sartor in Monroe, La. My surgery date was originally scheduled for June 25, 2007. I had to reschedule because my employer wasn't to happy. So I rescheduled the date to July 16, 2007.....which is tomorrow. Well I had one hell of a time trying to find help to finance the surgery.....my finance options were extremely limited!! I was able to get a loan from a local bank to cover the surgeon fee and the assitant surgeon fee but I still needed money to cover the hospital fee....and I was running out of time. I was told by the hospital that I had to have the full amount, $13,500 paid before the surgery or no surgery. Well I found a company that let me have a personal loan for $15,000 but here's the catch....24.99% interest rate () and the money wouldn't be deposited into my bank account 7 to 10 days later.....past my surgery date. I was unable to post date a check to the hospital so yet once again I had to reschedule my surgery date to August 20, 2007. This time I'm having that surgery on August 20, 2007 and I'm not letting anything stop me!!! Even though this is extremely expensive and I'm still very young (21 yrs old) I believe it is all worth it because my health is worth it, my life and future is worth it, my happiness is worth it....because I am worth it! If you are reading this and find yourself in a similar situation.....insurance won't pay so you have to pay out of your pocket and your down and out.....YOU ARE WORTH IT!!! Don't let anything stop you from having a long, full, healthy, and happy life.....because you are worth it! Keep thinking positive thoughts and don't take no for an answer....nobody chooses your fate or destiny but you! Release yourself into that freedom you have so longed for!
