Down in the dumps

Jul 28, 2009

YAY i'm a first time homebuyer!! I'm really proud i've come so far on so many different levels..
however; one day I closed on my home and the next i recieved a call from my surgeons office
saying they were faxed a denial letter from my inx (cigna hmo) I really don't understand b/cuz
everything in their denial letter we had already provided to them from start.
I know that my next step is to appeal, and i'm not really sure how so needless to say i'm lacking
confidence and am just blahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh and feeling slightly lost.
i'm always so strong yet right now i feel so weak.... :(

Just a quick update: January 28, 2009

Jan 28, 2009

Just a quick update:   Current Weight: 266.1 Height: 5’8 BMI: 40.5   I went for the 2nd part of my sleep study at the Sleep Centers of Arkansas On 1/20/09. The people that work there are just super nice! After Kim hooked me up to all of the monitors I then took the 2 prescribed Ambien, she hooked the CPAP up and then I tried to go to sleep. I had a difficult time falling asleep and then I woke up around midnight and cried because I was having a difficult time falling back to sleep. Needless to say the next day I was completely exhausted. I had an appointment with my PCP at 9am that next morning and was falling asleep in his office. He’s prescribed me Statara in hopes of helping me stay awake during the day. I have adult attention deficit disorder therefore meds like that tend to make me sleepy. After driving back from my Doctors office and the sleep study located in Searcy headed to work in North Little Rock I almost had a wreck due to dozing off and crossing over into the oncoming lane. Thankfully I didn’t wreck, it sure did scare me.   Thursday Evening on January 22, 2009 Dr. Keller from the Sleep Center contacted me letting me know that I stop breathing 18 times per hour during my sleep that I have moderate sleep apnea and also insomnia. So he’s prescribed me Ambien & a CPAP Machine and told me that if I had any problems or still couldn’t fall and stay asleep to call the SS center and they would let him know so that he can help me.   I was supposed to have my CPAP machine delivered on 1/26/09 at 4pm but due to possible inclement weather and my sick child that has been reset for this Friday 1/30/09 at 4pm.   This morning I spoke to Christy from Dr. Baker’s office she’s very nice and extremely helpful. I’ve finished the registration except for I’ve still got to return to the patient hub and list all of the dates and info of my weight loss attempts so Dr. Baker can look at it and they can send a letter to Cigna so I plan on finishing that up tonight.   I have an appointment with my PCP on 2/19/09. I also have an appointment for my Pshyc. Evaluation but couldn’t get scheduled before March 4, 2009.

On Tue January 13th I got off work at 1pm and headed to Searcy for my sleep study consultation at 3pm followed by my sleep study at 8:30 pm.

By the time that I arrived at the sleep center I was completely exhausted “Yawn” Everyone there was so nice and so informative. After my consultation I had a few hours to kill while in Searcy, so I first went to Walgreens and filled my ambien then went to Colton’s

and some dinner afterwards I just hung out at Hastings until time for me to head back to the sleep center.

I arrived back at the sleep center and met Kim the person who would be observing me, she was awesome, supper friendly someone that I felt as though I had known forever…like a long lost sista from another mother …lol Anyway there are defiantly some genuinely nice people working there.

As for the study:

WOW…after I was hooked up to all of that stuff with lot’s of colorful wires running everywhere I felt like I had been strapped with an explosive or something…lol..

I then took two of the prescribed ambien and proceeded to try and fall asleep (on my back…ehh)

after a little bit I fell asleep. I always sleep on my stomach with a bunch of pillows…but for the study I had to sleep on my back.

Yesterday January 15, 2009 I received a call from the sleep center letting me know that I have obstructive sleep apnea and that I stop breathing 17 times per hour during my sleep. Therefore; I’m scheduled to return for the 2nd part of the study which includes the CPAP machine. Also; next Wend. I have an appointment with my PCP.

I've probably gotten 4 hours of sleep all week and that 4 hours wasnt
undisturbed because I kept waking up....Ugggggggggg...
My sleep study is next week on the 13th. Wouldn't it just be wonderful if

Today I went to see my PCP regarding possibly having a gastric bypass. My doctor agreed that surgery would indeed be in my best interest. He ordered an initial lab draw and has referred me for a sleep study on 1/13. Geeze my knees are aching sooo bad right now,i’m certain the cold weather isn’t helping matters.
This past Saturday Night my best friend and I went to ride go carts, bumper cars, play laser tag and climb the rock wall... Well needless to say it was excellent fun however; I wasnt able to fit into the beltings at the rock wall so embarassingly enough I didn't get to climb the rock wall. I guess my knees didn't need the xtra stress and ache anyway. :( I also wanted to have my nose pierced but I didn't feel like having to look in the mirror afterwards so that didn't happen.   Height: 5’8 Weight: 265.5 BMI: 40.03
