Since the last time I posted I've lost another 19 lbs. I am feeling really good. I'm currently in a size 16 pants (down from 26/28) and a size XL shirt (from a 24/26). I am definately eating a lot more than I did just a month ago...maybe 1.25 cups instead of a cup. Although some things, like hearty soups, fill me up faster.
When I had my 6 month appointment (December 4th will be my 8 monthsurgiversary!) my doctor said I needed to be exercising more so I got off to a really strong start, but now I feel myself slipping back into my couch potato days. What do you do for exercise? What motivates you?
Here are my 7 month pics!

100 lbs!!!
Sep 28, 2010
Well, I did it! I finally hit a loss of 100 lbs! Actually, as of this week, it's 101 lbs! Here are some pics:

It seems to go that I lose 4 lbs one week and then 1 lb the next week. I have steadily been losing 10 lbs a month, though. Does this happen to anyone else?

Obese!
Sep 11, 2010
I just punched my height/weight ratio into the BMI calculator and found out I was obese! Okay, well, I already knew that, but it's exciting because I've gone from super obese to obese in 5 months. Can't wait til I'm just "average"!

5 Months! (with pics!)
Sep 08, 2010
It's been 5 months since my WLS. Things have been going well. I've been easing back into "real life". I lost 90 and then I hit a plateau for about 2 weeks. Since that time I've dropped another 5. It seems that I'm losing the same amount as at the beginning, My body just has to adjust to it. So I might lose 5 lbs and then stay at that for 2 weeks, not gaining, but not losing. I'm so thankful for the 95 I've lost so far.
I've had a hard time adjusting to the emotional differences in my life since WLS. I've realized that being fat is what I hid behind. Now that I look somewhat average, I'm finding people react to me differently. There is definately a fear there that people won't like me. Anyone else struggle with this?
Otherwise, things are going well! School is back in session and I'm a teacher and a student again. The good news is that I'm halfway through my grad program! A new look and a new career, soon to come!

4 month musings...with pics!

It's been a little while since I last posted. I find that as I get further away from my surgery date, the easier it gets. This is not to say that I don't need the support. My husband asks me all the time: are you supposed to be eating that? Why don't you get on the treadmill? While slightly annoying, they are good questions to ask. Here are some things that I'm eating at this point:
1/2 of a grilled cheese (provolone and munster) with high protien bread, light mayo and tomato
hamburger patty with cheese, a little ketchup, and pickles
pretzels
over easy egg ( I can only eat one, and scrambled sit too hard in my stomach)
Salad- lots and lots of it! With grilled chicken, tomatoes, red onion, cheese, a few crutons, etc.
40% less fat bacon
turkey & ham
steak
bbq chicken and shake n bake chicken
Peanut butter with 1/2 a banana
I need some ideas to spice things up a bit, I guess. Got something that you eat on a regular basis that I could add in? Let me know!
So far (At 4 months and 2 weeks) I've lost 84 lbs. I hope to be down 100 when I go to my 6month appointment in October. I'm losing an average of 10 lbs a month, so I think this is a doable goal. I went home to visit my family last week and had the opportunity to go shopping with my mom. I got some great deals- $4 pants and $1.70 shirts! Here are some pics to compare:

Hair Loss
Jul 20, 2010
Well, I am at 17 weeks out and am just starting to notice hair loss. When I take a shower I just lose handfulls of hair! I can't cook with my hair down anymore
and it's not because I'm pulling it out
Any ideas on what i can do? Will it grow back? Should I cut it short? Sigh...
