Gordon Wisbach

"I was switched to Dr. Wisbach after I was already set with another surgeon so I only met him once before the surgery. He wasn't super friendly but at the same time wasn't rude or condescending either. I guess you can describe him best as trying to be professional and while I didn't feel he was rushing me you can tell that he had a schedule to keep. He answered all of my questions thoroughly and I could tell that he was making sure that I understood what was going to happen. We spent a lot of time discussing whether or not I would give permission to use a robotic tool during surgery that he is working with (which I did agree to) and also discussed for a long time why I had picked the sleeve over other surgery options. I really liked that he didn't try to influence my decision but after I had told him what I wanted he shared with my why he felt that it was the best one for me.rnOn the day of surgery of course everything happened really fast and my surgery ended up taking 5 hours (a lot longer than expected) because of a hiatal hernia that he repaired. My husband was of course super worried as he was waiting a lot longer than expected but he said that Dr. Wisbach came out after and explained everything and was very reassuring to my husband. After surgery I stayed for two days and Dr. Wisbach came by 2-3 times. I did find that his interns/residents that worked with him would come by first and if I shared with them any concerns or questions that I had that they would spend a little more time with me explaining than Dr. Wisbach did. But all in all he was professional and seemed to be a very skilled surgeon which is ultimately what is most important!"
