I had the RNY in April 2002. I lost 90 lbs. I was in a size 12/14 and thought I was the Queen of England. In 2005, I started to put the weight back on. I was baffeled. Finally, I decided to go see Wade Barker to discuss the problem. He scheduled me for an EGD where he discovered that part of my bowel was serving as a second stomach. He said that you could fit a cheeseburger in the area of the bowel that had stretched. He also mentioned that there was no restriction on the pouch, so everthing was flowing right through. Anyway, on September 28, 2007, I will have a "revision" to correct the non-restricted pouch, remove the excess bowel, and he is going to cut off the top part of my stomach that secretes the hormone that makes you hungary. WOW So, I am feeling very confident that at least I am given the opportunity to feel confident, secure about myself again - not to mention my health. I will keep everyone informed as things happen.
