2 MONTH POST OP
Oct 24, 2010
Hi all,
Thought I would give an update. I am 2 months post op and feeling great. Finally got a good schedule down with taking ALL my vitamins and getting in all my protein. I was a little concerned about dehydration at about 1 month post op, because I felt like it was impossible to sip on water all day. But now everything goes down a lot easier so not that bad. I am down 62 lbs and starting to really see the changes. All of my clothes are too big and its exciting to fit in clothes that were once too small. I go to support group meeting once a month and they are so helpful to get ideas, vent and make friends with people that are all in the same boat with you. So would highly recommend that if you have had surgery(or even if you are thinking about it), and not going. Support is key!!! Exercise is the area that I think I need to step up the intensity. I try to walk 4 times a week but lately notice that it's like a leisurely stroll...lol So I really need to get my heart pumping and put in the work... So all and all everything is exciting!!! I am excited to think about not having to worry about my weight. I will post some photos soon!.
Until next time!!

Post op Beginning Week 1

Hello beautiful people!!! I'm alive...lol I spent one night in the hospital and was release from the hospital on Sunday
All the nurses were so sweet, but I am so happy to be home, since my stay was not restful at all. My veins were such a headache, they had to get lab work about 3 or 4 different times and each time was as hard as the last. I have bruises all over both arms.. I look like a crackhead...lol The pain was wow.. I remember waking after surgery and thinking what have you done... but the meds really took the edge off. I was up walking about 3 hrs after surgery. I was determined to be in as little pain as possible, since I am such a baby when it comes to pain, but the walking definitely helps. I have absolutely no appetite so having to make myself eat, well drink.. All in all I am doing well, pain gets better everyday.

Day Seven
Aug 20, 2010
Well.. I made it thru the pre-op diet!!! Successsssss. Not sure if I lost any weight, I haven't weighed myself in a week (didn't want to become obsessive). So will find out in the morning. It is very true that after day 3 it gets easier... but it was still sucky. I would catch myself day dream about what goodness I was going to eat for dinner, then realize duh.. you are having chicken broth...lol It was hard but definitely do-able. I did my pre-op lab work today and it took forever for the nurse to draw blood, she told me it was likely because I was a little dehydrated, so load up on the water. I was downing the water all day, so hope they don't run into that issue tomorrow(well today
) with the IV. Other than that everything has really been ok. Well I am about to hit the hay. Surgery is in 10 hrs. Can't Wait!!! New me here I come....

Day One!!
Aug 14, 2010
Well I figure today is as good as any to post my first ever blog!! I am not a blogger at ALL, but this is Day 1 of the dreaded liquid diet, so anything to keep my mind off what I can't eat is welcomed!!! I made it through the first day, and I am blown away about how mental this pre-op liquid diet is going to be. I am day-dreaming about food I don't even like...lol But the key so far for me has been to keep myself busy and drink lots of water. The countdown begins!!
