1 week down...several more to go...

Sep 02, 2010

So I've completed week 1, and have been out to eat and to the gym, and am loving it. I've lost 9lbs so far, and I'm so proud of myself that I've actually been on track with everything, not one mistake. We went out last night to Applebees, which was very hard, but I ordered their Dijon chicken without cheese, and stayed away from my family's appetizer sampler. I'm realizing that this isn't so bad. I'm extremely sore from the gym and the trainer, but I feel good about it...it reminds me why I'm doing it. I have more energy, and NO MORE HEADACHES (which I'm wondering if they weren't from lack of water). Today, I go for my breathing test, and clearance from the cardiologist. I can honestly say, that this has been the best choice I've made in a long time....

Wow...

Aug 26, 2010

So I went today and met Dr. Sofronski, who will be my surgeon now, not Dr. McCullough. He made me feel so comfortable and never once made me feel uncomfortable. I even got a free recipe book!!! So from here on out, I keep a food journal, and go to the gym 3 days a week starting Monday. I think this may be the best decision I've ever made for myself.

Today it begins...

Aug 25, 2010

So in about 1 hour, I will be meeting Dr. McCullough and discussing my steps to bariatric surgery in 6 months. I'm excited, nervous, and scared. After dealing with everything with my Dad, who isn't even 50 yet, I have realized, I need to be a member of the Loser's bench, and now. My ultimate goal is to lose the weight, and run a 5k competitively. I'm hoping we can schedule my surgery during Spring break (since I'm a teacher) and I will not miss any days from work, but we shall see. I'll update after my visit!!!!
