18 Months Post- Op

Mar 10, 2010

I can't believe it's been 18 months already since I've had surgery...  I am sitting between 179-185 right now. I know I could lose more but I've gotten into some bad habits lately.  I tolerate Reece's cups.. and I tolerate alot of them!  I am working on getting back into the program.  Protein forward, watching my intake.  I always get at least 100 oz of water a day, so that's not a problem.  I eat too many simple carbs and not enough protein.  I know that's my problem.  Well, the fact that being a full time student doesn't help the fact that simple carbs are abundant in my life either, :-)

15 months Post-op

Dec 31, 2009

Well it is New Year's Eve, I am 182 lbs (yippee!), and ready for this year to be over!  Lately I have found it hard to take care of myself like I should.  Protein and vitamins have been the last thing on my mind, but I'm picking it back up (mainly because I've started getting dizzy upon standing again).  I have lost 138 lbs from my highest weight and 126 lbs from my presurgery weight.  I am excited about that.  I only have about 37 lbs to go from being at my 'ideal' weight. 145 is where I should be to have a normal BMI at 5'4" tall.  it's currently a slow process, but I'm taking it in stride.  I need to get my butt excercising but with school, 3 kids, and a bf ( I know, excuses, excuses) it's hard to focus on exercising....  I'm a work in progress.

11 Months Post Op, part deux...

Sep 08, 2009

I am 9 days from my surgiversary and I am currently at 200.4 lbs!!  I am ecstatic.  I can't wait to get those last few ounces off so I can say that I am in ONEDERLAND!  Of course I still have about 50 lbs to lose, but hey, it's one goal at a time baby!

11 Months Post Op

Aug 22, 2009

Well, it's been an interesting couple of months.  I have officially began college. Therefore, my food hasn't been as big of a concern, neither has exercising.  So what do I get for all of that?  I weigh 206.  3 lbs down from the last time I posted.  That stinks. But hey, I recognize the problem and I am working on it as we speak.  I have roughly 1 month before my 1 year surgiversary and I want to be below 200 lbs by then.  I think I can lose 7 lbs in a month.  Wish me luck!

7 1/2 Months Post Op

May 08, 2009

...and today I weigh 218 lbs.  Only 38 lbs until I'm considered just 'overweight' and 68 lbs to go until I'm in a 'normal' weight range.  It gets easier to get off track the further out you get, let me tell you...  I didn't think we'd ever get the Easter candy out of the house!  I ate so much of it.  I have to struggle to want to eat what's best for me.  But I'm doing pretty well.  I am in size 20 and some 18's.  I never thought I'd be this small.  I remember weighing 209 lbs in 6th grade. And that's age 11-12.  My SON is 11 and weighs 81 lbs.  I can't believe I was that overweight!! I just realized that, right now.  An epiphany, if you will.  Well I have 9 lbs to lose and I will be there again.  The first time in15 years.  Can't wait.

6 Months Post Op

Mar 23, 2009

I am 6 months post op.  I now weigh 226 lbs.  Weight loss has significantly slowed down.  I'm going to increase my workouts and protein.  I feel I have been pretty good lately about my protein but just dabbling in exercise.  I know that will be the key to getting the scale moving again.  I am feeling pretty good lately.  My clothes are falling off of me, it's time to get at least a couple of new things so I don't look frumpy.  I had to break down and buy new undies, I couldn't justify wearing my old ones any longer.  They were sagging and most unattractive. lol.  I started out in size 26/28 clothes, some 30's.  Right now I can fit into 20 and some 18's on top.  Still 22 ish on the bottom (smaller in some things).  I'm so excited.  I can't wait to be completely out of the 20's.

5 Months Post Op

Feb 28, 2009

Well I am almost 5 1/2 months post op now and down 78 lbs.  I weigh 231 and have for the past 2 weeks.  I seem to not lose weight for 2-3 weeks then lose 8-10 lbs in one week.  Don't know how but that's the trend.  I am having depression issues as well as anger issues.  They seem to intensify during TOM of course but I know I should expect these emotions.  It would help if someone just understood what I am going through.

Long Time... 4 months post-op

Jan 14, 2009

Wow, it's been awhile since I've updated.  Today I weigh 250 lbs !!!  I can't believe I've lost 59 lbs since surgery! I've long since been accustomed to my new life.  I still find it hard to get enough protein in and to get all of my vitamins in each day.  It's still a work in progress.  I recently moved across the state and am trying to get acclaimated.  I will be joining a gym here in a couple of weeks so I can get that going for me.  I have some sagging skin already and stretch marks are showing their ugly faces.  Gotta up the cocoa butter...

2 Months Post Op (or so, And TURKEY DAY!)

Nov 27, 2008

Just wanted to update..  270.5 today.  Tomorrow I should be at least 270.0 or 269.5, I hope!  I haven't ate too much today so I feel good about today overall.  Still have problems getting all of my vitamins down and wish I had more of a variety of food, but it comes with the territory.  STILL need to get my but in gear and get in the gym!
