I have tried several different diets and exercise since birth of last child at 35 years old; now facing 46 years old I am still struggling with my weight. I am probably singing a few people songs... pills, shakes, fasting, etc etc etc. I started considered WLS in 2007. However I got serious 2012... start doing my homework and search for a good surgeon. I started the process July 2013. Finally maintained a BMI of 40 for insurance coverage. Schedule date was 10/14/2013.

HW 285 SW 273

10/14/13 I arrived at hospital and after noon I completed recovery then transferred to WLS floor. I sipped out of medicine 1 oz cups and walked the halls but I was in pain during this process. The nurse was carrying on about walk walk walk. I had the 5 incisions and no JP drains. I was discharged home 10/19/13.

Arrived home in more pain on 10/19/13, then later that even I had a fever of "105" and  hemoglobin level of "5". EMS picked me from my house and transported me to the nearest ER for urgent blood transfusion. Afterwards I was transferred by Critical Care EMS to my surgeon hospital for urgent surgery.

I woke up with race track down my stomach and 3 JP drains. I was informed I had a "leak" and JP drains is for the collection of blood and abscess under my stomach. I was in ICU then CCU for total of 28 days. I finally make it home and now I am on home health care. However , the doctors dont take in consideration the cost to the patient. I pay $500 weekly for pharmacy part which includes my TPN/Lipids bags, Antibiotic drugs IV, Protonix drug IV and supplies.

12/6/13 I am now 50 days post op still on home health care; oh I forgot I have been NPO since 10/19/2013 (no food by mouth).

I keep every one posted...
