Well, here's my story.................I've been heavy all my life. As a child, all my pictures show this cute, pudgy little girl. Then this little, pudgy girl turned into an overweight teenager. High school was rough because this girl I'd known since kindergarten started calling me PIG and it stuck. I started trying every diet known to man, Nutri-system, cabbage soup, starving and then my aunt took me to a doctor who put me on some diet pills and they worked. I went from 210 to 150 and was looking pretty good. They stopped calling me PIG and this guy that I thought was really hot for years had finally come to noticing me. We dated on and off for 3 years in high school. But after high school, I met the man of my dreams. We dated for about 6 months and got married and of course a month into the marriage, I got pregnant with our daughter and the weight started pouring on again. Within 2 years, I was pregnant with our son. I had to have a C-section with him and that weight wouldn't go away either. Needless to say, I've kept my "baby weight" on for 26+ years now. I have tried and failed miserably at every diet I've tried in that 26+ years. I even tried Phen-Fen and ended up getting mitral valve regurgitation from it.
I now have a beautiful 5 year old granddaughter whom I worship! I want to be healthy and able to do things with her and I would love to be able to be alive when she graduates or even gets married one day.
I have a wonderful support system! My wonderful husband of 27+ years has stood by my side all these heavy years and has never said a word about me being fat. He is definitely my angel sent from heaven. I look forward to being healthy and living a very long and happy life with him. Once he retires, we are planning on moving to Daytona Beach, Fl. so you know I have to look good on the beach! LOL
Seriously, I am looking forward to being healthy and feeling good about myself, shopping at normal women's size shops and enjoying life again. My surgery date is December 1, 2009 and I am counting down the days to this glorious journey. God bless everyone and stay safe!
