My Story, Where to begin!!!
My name is Donna and I am 37 years old. I have been over weight all my life. No matter what I done as far as weight loss- I would lose 20 or so pounds and before I knew it I had gained the weight back plus 10-15 extra pounds. I Have PCOS and that seems to make losing weight harder not to mention having children. I had pretty much given up on having children and excepted the fact the being a mom was not in God's plan. This coming November, 5 years ago a friend of mine lost her battle with breast cancer. She was always so positive in everything she done- that made me take a long look at my life and at that point I started a diet, joined weight watchers and joined a gym. before I knew it I had lost 77 pounds and was in the best shape I had been in along time. My weight lose stopped no matter how hard I tried-well come to find out I was pregnant. A true blessing from above-In March 2008 my son Aaron was born. It was the happiest day of my life. During the pregnancy I gained 81 pounds!!! gaining all the weight I had lost plus some. Again I was on the weight roller coaster. When my son turned 6 months old I made an appointment with my PCP for a referral for the gastric bypass- I went through all the Dr visits, diet and psych. Had the EKG, chest x-ray and blood work- I was cleared by everyone and they submitted the paperwork to the INS company for approval. I was so excited, I just knew I was approved and I would be well on my way to a surgery date. I was denied and had to go through a 6 month maint. plan So I started the 6 month plan and then due to daycare reasons I had to give up my job and stay home with my son. So with no INS I was not able to continue and gave up on the surgery. I am now on my husbands INS- I have gone through all that was required by the ins company and have been cleared for surgery. I HAVE A SURGERY DATE - NOVEMBER 8TH. I am so excited- I am ready to get through surgery and start the rest of my life. The main reason for surgery is my son, I want him to have the Happy, Health, Active Mom he deserves.
