Hi there..It has been a long while since I posted to this web site. Things of late have been crazy and I'm actually going to have to have the lapband removed because of a newly developed leaky heart valve and the risk of infection from the band could actually kill me if that infection got to my heart. I've also been having problems 1 1/2 years out in that I can't eat any kind of meats I mean nothing not beef nor chicken or even fish..I've been restricted to eating only very small amounts of food at a time. My weight loss has been decent.. I'm down to 328 from the 478 that I weighed pre-op so all in all I have been please with the band. I meet with my new surgeon's nursing staff on June 2 2005. I wish I could have went to Dr. Pleatman BUT insurance requires staying in network. I'll be sure to keep you posted.

Hello- an update on Don Fritz: Don had his lap band done one week ago. He is still in the hospital, has had 3 barium swallow tests thusfar. He doesn't have any leaks, but neither is he able to swallow anything. The lap band is OK, but Don has a lot of swelling of the stomach and surroundings that are keeping him from taking anything by mouth yet. He is in good spirits and walking plenty, but would certainly appreciate hearing from his AMOS family while he goes thru this unexpected time. Thank you-
