Total plateau!

Aug 14, 2010

I lost 72 pounds in about 6 mos and then have been stuck there ever since.  I have added walking 2 miles 5 days a week, but I know I need to drink more water, make better food choices, and cut back on coffee w/ creamer...easier said than done.  I should also add some weight lifting.  My husband had his first gastric bypass and went from 360 to 209...yes, he now weighs less than me...which is about killing me!!! My doc recommended eating more beans, so trying to do that. I was vommitting on purpose to try to lose more weight...didn't help! Weird!  I am so sick of this fight...I have been fighting my weight and food has been the enemy since I was 6 years old.  42 years of fighting food and fat...sad!

2 1/2 weeks out of revision

Aug 15, 2009

Things are going very well.  I have lost about 28 lbs. so far.  I feel better and have more energy every day.  My husband had surgery 4 days ago.  He is doing awesome!  He didn't have near the pain I did.  He is being patient with getting fluids down and doing an excellent job!

Less than one week out of revision.

Aug 04, 2009

Well, I am less than one week out of my gastric bypass revision and I am still having my ups and downs.  It is getting better each day though.  I had a lot of pain in my neck and left shoulder.  The hospital staff told me the left shoulder pain comes from the gas they put in with doing it laproscopically.  I have a feeling it was due to my asking them to be careful of my right side too - because I had a pulled Lat muscle.  My husband's massages have helped sooooo much.  He is going for his first gastric bypass surgery on the 12th and then hopefully I will be up to giving him some massages too!  I am hoping that things will go better this time around since we are going through this together.
