I had gastric bypass RNY in Aug. 2001, with Dr. Stephan Marshall, Peoria Il. Everything went well I had no complications, and was back to work, full duty as a CNA within 3 weeks. Within 6 mos. I went from 260 to 148!! WOWWW what a change...for the bettter! I looked amazing!! About 1 1/2 yrs later I had a tummy tuck, that went well,and I looked even more amazing!!
Around 2004 I started gaining a few pounds here and there, it just kind of snuck up on me and was getting out of control. I truly thought I was finished with the weight swings after wls. Boy was I WRONG!!! I am really angry I have to try to lose weight after wls! My high blood pressure has returned, and am currently on medication for it again. My eating habits are very much out of control. I have periods of time where I seem to have better motivation and some control over my weight, but for the most part I am really having trouble.
Part of me really is hoping this revision will work, another part is really wondering if this will just be another painful way to lose 80 lbs just to regain it.
I don't mean to have a negative attitude, but when you are planning a revision, it crosses your mind that you will in fact fail again. Sometimes I just think the hell with it, just stay like you are and enjoy food... do you really want to go back to eating such amall amounts??
I guess the answer is YES!! Cause I dont want to feel like this again! I am determined to succeed. I know that I have to use this tool this time and do the work it takes to make this work for me. I am so grateful to have a second chance.!!
