Well i went for my 1 week follow up yesterday. i think it went well. i lost 12 pounds from my consultation in aug.  truthfully, i had gained a few pounds before surgery. i think i had to "say goodbye" to all of my favorite foods :o( so that would be a 20 pound weight loss from last monday. all of those numbers confuse me. so, i am just going to go with the number my dr goes with and say i lost 12 pounds. not as much as i would liked for it to be, but i am not going to start whining.  he did tell me i could start protein shakes tuesday. i guess that is supposed to be a good thing.  i am SOOOOOO sick of liquids i think i had just rather not eat. now i know that isn't going to get me anywhere (but back in the hospital) so i will keep shoving them down.
today was my son's halloween party at school. since i was off on medical leave i was able to attend. not long after i got there i started thinking i should have stayed at home. there was pizza, cookies, chips, sandwiches, and of course more CANDY than you could shake a stick at.  it all looked and smelled so good. i just wanted ONE bite.  i passed out treat after treat to all the little children in the room. when what i really wanted to do was knock one of them in the head and take their plate and run down the hall.  by the grace of god, i refrained.  i didn't even lick my fingers.  tomorrow is when my town celebrates halloween. i just keep thinking if i can make it until tomorrow night i will be ok...until thanksgiving...

well i am very happy to be home from the hospital. all the staff at the hospital were very nice, but i like my home.  of course, i am already worried about not following the plan.  i feel confident i will be able drink all of my liquids. HOWEVER, the protein is going to be my biggest problem.  i tried the unflavored in broth and crystal light at the hospital.  since home, i have tried to drink the nectar fuzzy navel.  while drinking the protein drinks is the only time i have a problem with nausea.  i worry how i will deal with this for the next couple of weeks...
