Four years ago today me and my dad were on the way to the hospital to have my WLS surgery. I would have never thought that it was the start of a new life and adventures that would follow. I had researched and talked to people that had had the surgery and only after my dad had had the surgery did I decide to have the RNY surgery. Dr. Cook and his staff were excellent and I could have not asked for any better treatment. Shortly after my surgery I developed pneumonia and was treated for it.  I have had several minor issues from the pneumonia to low iron after my surgery but I believe that if it was not for the surgery I would have had far worse medical issues from my weight and worsening diabetes. The end of 2010 my iron dropped to a level that I had to have iron infusions little known to me I also became pregnant. Me and my husband had tried for 9 years to have another child but had been told that we could not. My pregnancy were well, no problems, very little weight gain and we welcomed Abby into our family on September 16, 2011. I believe that me having the surgery and my weight loss we would have never been able to have another child. Me and my family are so happy. I have kept most all of my weight off only gaining 10-15 pounds back since my surgery. My weight loss journey has not only helped my but it has also opened my 13 year old sons eyes to watching his weight ant the amount of food that he eats. Abby on the other had is now almost 3 months and she eats all the time. She was only 5 lbs and 5 oz and now is over 11 lbs. Thank everyone who was there for me, helping me and especially the ones who kicked my butt. I was asked if after all the things I been through would I do it over and my answer is YES I would do it again in a second.

It has been a while since I have updated. I had my surgery and it went well, make sure and walk everyone. I went back to the ER about a month later with a abcess on my liver pnumonia and pluricy. Very Painfull experience. I spent 9 days in the hospital. I will still have the surgery over again no questions asked. I am now down 117 lbs  and holding at 175 lbs. still loosing just slower now. I was able to start my new job with the Highway Patrol in Communications. I am so happy with my new life and would be happy to do it again.  Thanks to everyone for the support.

Well I have been approved for surgery, Pre-Op is 11-29, and Surgery date is 12-11. I am excited and nervous but I know what I am doing will get me a more productive life. My son can't wait till I can run and play with him outside and fell better. My husband on the other hand is dealing with the fact that I amd having the surgery. My dad is my support person, no one could have a better farther than me! He is just over a year Post-Op and down 140 lbs. I work with a great group of guys to say they are coming to see me in the hospital (Yea) O boy they say they are going to make a scene. (have to register under a alias name). 
Time is dragging, I guess that could be good but it never seems that i will see Dec 11.

This week I learned that my insurance information had been mailed and not signed for by the insurance co. It took 3 weeks for a certified letter to reach them. They said that the mail was to blam, O ok that makes me fill so much better. Eleven days later the still can not confim that they recieved the information. I am worried that this is a bad sign.  I am worried, scared and not sure if they will approve the surgery. Maybe next week will be better.

We today I learned that all my information has been turned in and I should be contacted in the next 10 days by the Dr. office. I thought that today would never come, it was always needing more information and more records. Ten days, it will take forever.... Guess I will just have to wait and wait and wait. They said that they are booked through August I hope that they have a workin list. I can't wait......
