I called dear Janice again and she returned my call to tell me that I can call the NP.  I called and she told me I am not forgotten that my file is on her desk. They have loads of organizing to do and Dr. Pace hopes to get two surgeries a week done starting September. I am so hopeful right now and I even walked to work !!!

Well just called and left another message to Janice. Poor woman must be drove by me.

I am struggling though, weigh seems a bit higher, functionality is down and it is harder to chase my almost 2 grandson around.

I do not want ot get bigger. Had a medical person ask me yesterday was i serious about osing weight and is surgery the only option left. my answer was YES and YES!!  of course

I have another appt to help with my addiction on August 18. far between but summer holiday time, I guess.

I am just trying to be holestic about my health these days. If i get an appointment and approval for surgery and they say a year wait, i will still be happy if longer I dont know what i will do. 

Well today is the last day for celebrating in our family for at least four weeks when it is my neices birthday in august.   It has been a constant two weeks of not watching what I have been eating with some periods of consciousness popping up every now and then.  Went out to supper with my birthday girl yesterday,she turned 18 and today,everyone is home so we are having a bbq. I almost feel sick of eating.  I am sure I have gained becasue there has been lots of fast food.

good time to make a life style change which ive tried before and cant maintain.

I am starting counselling this week.   I want to be ready mentalling for this surgery and maintaniance after, i really feel it is my last shot...

Though it is my baby girls grad day it is stressful for me because I have to step outside  my comfort level.

I have a dress that i have to squeeze into a too small spanks to fit. but I will raise my head high.

I told my girls I  will be more comfortable at their MUN/college  convocations.  
it will be after my WLS, please GOD!!!

I called Dr. Pace's office today and the secretary put me on hold and came back to tell me they have the referral. yippe yai hey

So now waiting for an appointment. She said they have a clinic tomorrow and its is a full day. She did say they have no other clinic time booked yet, I guess with the line up for surgeries and holiday time, the clinics won't begin till fall. I think one post said December surgery, so after todays clinic, it will mean surgeries right up to next spring.

But i am ok, just got to not gain anymore weight and watch my health issues.

I told her I will call next month and she said I can, if I have not heard from her. maybe i'll call in two weeks.

1, I have a NP writing my seecond referral and getting my doctor to sign. He volunteered as I was so upset my first referral did not make it to Dr. Pace's office. He said there was no little mark on the paper that a "faxed" paper usually have on the bottom.

2. He is listing all from my files with my family doctor and any specialist that I ahve seen and result is "oh lose weight" such as leg circulation and bladder problems.

3. He will fax and then call Janice to make sure she has it. I will call him tomorrow morning to see how it went.

4. I will call Janice on Monday and every second Monday thereafter until I have a consultation appointment.

5, IN THE MEANTIME,  I can not binge on food or drink "just becasue". I need to stick to the Canada Food Guide as much as possible.

6. IN THE MEANTIME, I got to start walking at least a kilometer three times a week  via the road or some walking program or a DVD walking program. NO EXCUSES> I do not want to die waitng for surgery!!!

7. DO 5 and 6 knowing it will not mean weight loss but maintain where I am so my clothes will fit right up until the surgery. as I can not afford to up my size again for many reasons

8. go on this NL forum everyday for inspiration and friends who uinderstand.

Ok so my referral did not get to Dr. Pace and I now understand the ups and downs of this a bit more.  Thanks to this forum I called to Dr. Pace's office and sure enough hit the wall. I will go back to my doctor and one thing is I just learned, again from this forum, my doctor has to put all the info down on the referral. Maybe that is why this happens. I truly beleive that everything happens for a reason.

I went to my family doctor yesterday and i did not have to cry but i had to call in reinforcements. He never heard of Dr. Pace and since I did not have the fax number he could not do it. \i left his office and went to the manager of the clinic and asked her help. She called the Health Science and got the number for me and we went back to the doctors office. She explained she was talking to Dr. Pace's secretary.

The he asked that question " do you eat a lot, why can you not do this"

I almost really cried then, not again another person thinking this is so easy, so I gve him my reasoning.

He said he would do it. I will follow up today.

Made my appointment for GP for May 30 at 2:00 pm and I am going to demand a referral to Dr. Pace. He has been my family doctor for 30 years, and  I am even prepared to cry if I have to to get the referral.
