When has weight not been an issue for me? All through elementary, High School, and so on. That is why I have chosen to go the route of weight loss surgery. About 7 years ago I weighed 286.5 and on a 5'3" frame that was hard to carry. I went through a divorce and worked really hard on finding myself spiritually, emotionally, etc. and I lost about 116.5lbs which brought me to 170lbs. I ran about 3-4 miles on average 5 days a week and could not get below the 170. It took me about 3 years to lose that weight and that was with diet/ exercise. I kept it off for a couple more years. Never losing anymore or gaining any until my (new) husband and I moved to a different state and I got out of my normal atmosphere and the weight started creeping back up slowly at first than Kablam here I am today at 251 of course it goes up and down a pound or two. During part of the weight gain was while I was attending Weight Watchers and exercising. I could not control my eating. I went to my Dr. thinking that if I got my depression treated that maybe that was the problem. I have tried everything until I finally realized I need a tool. Something that will help me get closer to my goal of 130lbs, which is not an unrealistic goal because of my height and frame. So here I am today in the process to get Lap-Band. My First appointment which I talked to my PCP was November 27, 2007. This is a long process and I am looking forward to being free from this bondage that has controlled me my whole life.
