I am new to this site and have not yet had my first consultation. I am scheduled to go for my seminar on May 15, 2008. I am a married mother of two and I never had weight problems until the birth of my first child almost 7 years ago. After he was born, I NEVER lost the wieght I gained during the pregnancy. His sister was born two years after and I gained even more weight after she was born.
Initially, before my son was born, I was pursuing an acting career in Los Angeles, CA
. After his birth, my agent told me I was too big and that I would have to lose a lot of weight before beginning to act again. It was not long after he gave me that news, that he dropped me from the roster
. There was the beginning of my nightmare
. I went on every diet there was - to no avail!!! I would lose a ton and then gain it back, plus 10 more pounds. . . . . I was on a roller coaster with my weight and then my husband and I got the news that we were pregnant with the next baby. I couldn't believe it. We were happy but I new I was in for the battle of my life with the weight then. I really needed an angel.
I started looking into the gastric bypass surgery because I need to use it as a tool to help me achieve my goal weight and get back the energy I used to have. I also want to get off of the medicine I take for GERD (I was just diagnosed)
.
I'm a singer and my voice is becoming a mess because of the weight. I suffer with Acid Reflux and it is destroying my vocal chords. I use my voice to sing in church (Calvary Temple) and I also do background sessions sometimes. However, now I have a problem hitting certain chords because of the GERD and the doctor says that the only way I can get rid of this problem is to lose the weight. But for me, that has been NO EASY TASK!!!
But my main concern with my weight is: NOT HAVING THE ENERGY LEVEL TO PLAY WITH MY CHILDREN
!!!! I have two. One is getting ready to turn 7 and the other just turned 5. I never have the energy just to go to the park with them or just run around the house. I mean, I will go with them to the park, but I just sit and watch because I am ALWAYS so out of breath by the time we walk over there.
My husband is always the one that plays with them once we get there. AND THAT IS NOT FAIR TO OUR KIDS!! I am hoping that having Gastric Bypass Surgery will assist with getting my body back into shape so that I can play with them more regularly.
I mean, it's nice to read to them and sing with them and watch movies with them. But I CAN'T WAIT TO BE ABLE TO PLAY TAG WITH THEM, RUN WITH THEM, AND PUSH THEM ON THE SWINGS WITHOUT BEING COMPLETELY OUT OF BREATH!!
Thanks for reading and feel free to email me with any questions you may have. I love making new friends! Take care and I'm glad there is a forum here so that I can get to know some other folks that have been in my shoes.
