53 lbs lost on my own since 9/27/2009 - to 6/1/10, in 8 months
Jun 01, 2010
Curves - 3-4 x per week plus walking plus swimming/water areobics at home
1 or 2 Advocare Protein shakes/day (bfast & lunch) plus Atkins style dinner (relaxed)
I weigh in at home on Sunday and Wednesday morning
if I've added a pound or two on the Metabolism Ramp-up diet program from curves, I re-double my efforts by going
back on the pre-surgery diet until I've lost it plus 1 or 2. Seems to be working.
I weigh & take measurements @ Curves on the 5th of the month.
I've lost 53 lbs to date, gone from size 46 DD bra to 44 C and size 26 top to 18/20 and size 26/28 stretch pants to size 24 Jeans!! Woot - I'm in Jeans again and they are not painted to me - I have room in them, soon dropping another jean size.
Also taking Advocare MNS MAX C appetite control multinutrient dietary supplement Trim daily.

Surgery postponed
Feb 16, 2010
possibly indefinitely!
How could someone not have told be before Monday that the hospital needed $6,000 in cash, check or credit card on the day of surgery - scheduled for 2/19/2010 Friday (tomorrow) but now not likely, if ever.
My insurance has $1,000 deductible and max $3,000 out of pocket. I have set aside $8,000 into an FSA (flexible spending account) so we are having $666 deducted and held from our monthly wages - we are SO broke right now, between stocking up on Protein shake powder, Isopure, Unjury, colon health, milk of mag, suppositories, curad bandages, gas-x, vitamins, calcium supplements, the list goes on and on.
I've also paid $300 for a psych eval (got that reimbursed from FSA). Paid $580 to the hosp plus $170 for 6 months against pre-op testing: Upper GI and Stess Echo. The Dr required (2) payments $300 & $350 ahead of the date of surgery. I was flabbergasted when I was expecting a call to set up the time for bloodwork and my Mag drink the day before and instead she told me to bring $6K!! I asked what my options were. That's all: cash, check or CC. No option for me but to put the surgery on hold.
Good news/bad news.
I was losing pretty good anyhow so I think I'll be okay and still continue onto my goal of 158.
My husband and daughter have joined me (they are 299 & 294 respectively, ages 52 & 19) in 2 protein shakes + 1 meal.
I am now worried what to spend the $8,000 from the FSA on so I don't just lose all that money!!
Any idea how to get the FSA to pay for Gym membership? We are 3 morbidly obese individuals who should "qualify"...

Boobs are the 1st to go!
Feb 02, 2010
So I was wearing a Lane Bryant full coverage cotton underwire bra size 44 DD (with extender) this summer. Now more than 27 pounds burned off since Oct 1st - still weeks away from surgery - I just had to buy a correct fitting bra: Lane Bryant Size 42 C.
Yep, the boobs are the first to go, but the figure is looking better with the girls where they belong rather than knocking around in the old bras LOL.
