Feeling Human again
Aug 01, 2009
So it has been 6 weeks since my TT. I was able to take 5 weeks off from work and I am very glad I did. My doctor said I should be able to go back in two weeks, but maybe he was thinking I was younger than I am. I had the drains out in one week, but my compression garmet did not fit me well and I had a lot of swelling. I had to buy two and they cost me $150.. Only wore them for two weeks because I could not breath in them, but they were not tight around my lower stomach. They had me get the high one. Oh well, the doctor's office was going to look into measuring the patients from now on and having you get the correct garment.
I think the worst part is the muscle tightening. It hurts alot and if you have swelling, it is worse. If you sneeze, you feel like you just got stabbed with a zillion knives. That is much better now. I have no feeling around my belly button or near my scar. Another painful area is my hip bones (I did not know I had them anymore). The cut goes up over my hip bones and the bones stick out a bit, so my clothing rubs on those areas. I guess I am just whining. I HAVE NO MORE BLUBBER!!!!
So now that my stomach is gone, all I see is my big back.. Just can't win. I am thinking that when I am allowed to exercise again, I will try karate or something like that. It would be different and maybe more motivating then the darned gym. I get so bored. Maybe that will help with the fat back. There is no fat anywhere else!! Terry

I was able to have my insurance pay for a TT for myself. The blobbo belly is gone. I am finally at my goal weight of 127 pounds. I never would have thought it was possible. One wake up call for me was that while I was in the hospital, my blood sugar was high. It is almost back to nornal. Just goes to show you that diabetes does not really ever go away... as goes for me at least.. Terry

So I am reading my original post and I see that it needs to be updated. I am down to 133 pounds!! From a size 18 pants is way too small to size 6 sometimes is baggy!! What a difference. I really have not lost any weight in a few months. I guess I am where I am going to be. I can live with this. I don't really like the baggy skin, but then again, I am 54 now so my skin wouldn't be like a 20 year old anyway.. Terry
