Hey Everyone, I'm Tasha. I am 36 years old and I have 2 beautiful stepdaughters and one son. I have PCOS and have been up and down on the scales my whole life. I was finally diagnosed with the PCOS when I was 32. I started seeing an endocrinologist and successfully lost 40lbs with the help of Weight Watchers and in September of that year while on a cruise, celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary, I got pregnant with my son Logan. I did really well maintaing the weight until the very end of my pregnancy when I started swelling really bad. After the pregnancy I suffered a pretty bad bout of post partum depression and the weight just kept continuing to add up. Like some of you I didn't look in the mirror and think WOW you weigh almost 300lbs, I didn't even realize I was that BIG until I saw a picture of me and my mom at our family reunion in June 2007 and I was literally twice her size. I knew I had to do something if I wanted to be around for many years for my son so in December 2007 I started Weight Watchers yet again with my co-worker and friend, again I lost 42lbs from December 07 to June 08 but once again I hit a wall and the weight just stopped coming off no matter what I did. So in December 08 I started researching weight loss surgery and so my journey begins. I procratinated until June of this year about going for the seminar and finally bit the bullet and attended a seminar at Banner Bariatric, I immediately felt comfortable with the surgeon, Dr. Rob Schuster. He had a very easy going manner which made me relax right from the start. I finally have my insurance approval and I go on 09/29 to get my PCP clearance. I have to attend the bariatrics basics class on 10/07 and then we can schedule the surgery. I am hoping for the week before Thanksgiving. I am scared and excited all at the same time and I am looking forward to making new friends along this road to the NEW ME!! SURGERY SCHEDULED 11/18/09!!
