I have been struggling with my weight since I was in 8th grade. Since then, I have tried everything from Healthy Choice and Lean Cuisine to the Atkins diet along with working out, and it has failed for the most part. I recently moved from California to Frisco, Texas in July 2006 and have gained quite the few pounds. I enrolled at the YMCA and have been an avid gym goer, and still have not lost anything. This past summer (2008) I researched about the gastric bypass surgery. I went to Dr. Nick Nicholson's seminar at Bayloer Plano and learned so much about the surgery. As I was waiting for my insurance company to approve of the surgery, I was praying to God that they do approve it. He sees what I am going throught. And they did! On November 28, I received the letter from Aetna saying ti was approved for the gastric bypass. I seen Dr. Nicholson on December 4, and my operation date is December 29th at 9am! I'm 18 years old, a freshmen in college, and currently weigh close to 360. My goal is to lose at least 140 pounds and become a healthier person!
