My name is Toni and I am 37 yo. I had my Roun-en-Y Aug 1, 2007. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I have struggled with my weight since I was a little girl. I was a very active child but could never keep the weight off. After college, getting married, working night shift and having 2 kids I topped out my weight at 330.
In Jan '07 I made the decision that 2007 was going to be about ME!! I had to go through the 6 month plan for my insurance. I went to as many support group meetings as I could, meet with the dietitian, saw 2 different Psych doctors (for my insurance), and went through a 12 week session with a psych counsler. I had to miss many events that my son was involved in and lost some hours of needed sleep so that I could make it to meetings. I'm now 7 1/2 months out and have lost 102#. Still need to lose about 70 more, but what a great start. I would do it again in a minute. I had the best surgeon I could have asked for, and the follow up had been good.
