Tracy G.
My name is Tracy, I am a 35 single mother of two great kids. I have struggled with my weight since I was 10yrs old. I have to tell you when I first heard of WLS, I thought its dangerous. Over the past few months I have been researching and I have had a friend that has just underwent WLS in July. This site has been so helpful and I have to tell you I have spent hours reading everyones storys the ups and downs, its truly amazing. I had my first visit to my bariatric Dr. was on August 9th. They gave me all this information that I had to get together to submit to insurance. By August 21st, I had my psych eval done, the orientation and medical records sent to them. I was told you have to keep on top of things. The Nurse called me on August 28th and said "are you ready for you second appt, so we can get this sent to insurance." I wanted to say yes, but you see I need to have the time off work built up so I can afford the two weeks off, I would not have 80 hours of vacation or sick time till November. So I explained to her my concern, she said no problem we will set you up for Oct. 2, 2007. Then the information will be sent to the Insurance. 2 more weeks, Its killing me. I just want the approval from Insurance, so I am not getting my hopes up. My plan for surgery is Nov. 14th.....I pray!!! Little did I know last thanksgiving would be my last thanksgiving for awhile.
