10 years out!
Aug 08, 2010
June 19, 2010 I can't believe the day came and went so quietly. For me, it was a huge deal, it was the 10th anniversary of my gastric bypass surgery. AMAZING!! TEN years and still a success story! I am so proud of myself, yet so sad about all of the I years I lost to obesity. Since my last post 3 years ago, many changes have occurred. I left the teaching field and started working for Verizon Telecommunications in the Center for Customers with Disabilities as a Customer Service Representative. I have been very successful in my position at Verizon, even winning a sales award trip to Las Vegas this past May. I continued to date Victor for about 3.5 years, until it became clear that we were not meant to be together. Since November 2009, we've been trying to be friends. He has a heart of gold and will help anyone, but only on his terms. Everthing has to be done his way, his time, his, his, his-you get the picture. There was no room for what I wanted. Sharing was a problem. He really needed more of a buddy to do things with, so I suggested we just be friends. That has had mixed results. In my heart I had deep feelings for him as I truly loved this man. But after the years of put downs and making me feel bad, I needed to take care of myself. So I started calling him less. Then in April 2010 I decided to sign up with CatholicMatch.com. I really didn't have much success at all, until I met this other guy, Joe. We met in July and have been seeing each other for about 1 month and thing seem to be going very well. We are very in tune with each other. He doesn't scream and yell at me, nor does he put me down. He is kind, gentle and handsome. I hope to build upon the foundation we have started for a longer lasting relationship. He is the kind of person I would like to spend my life with.
