Hi everyone,
Just came home from the Barix clinic yesterday. Everyone there is so unbelievably nice and compassionate, while still making you do those things you need to do to heal quicker. No easy feat!
I can't sleep flat in bed yet, it's easier to just use the recliner. Am still considerably sore, but just being home is so comforting. Everyone was right, it's hard just getting the liquids in. My sister has been wonderful, taking really good care of me. I will be sure to pay her back when she gets her surgery in August!
Things I'm really glad I saw on O.H. before the surgery: the weight gain while in the hospital (I put on 11 pounds), the need to move around, and the absolute lack of hunger. What I wasn't ready for? How extremely hard it was coming out of the anesthesia (it took me close to 12 hours), how hard it was to even urinate and how excruciating dry heaves are after an abdominal surgery.
Once again, my sister ROCKS!!!!!! Thank you, thank you THANK YOU!!!

No more type 2 diabetes
No more sweating through my clothes
Less pain in my knees and feet
No more CPAP
A smaller bra size!!
Hope all goes well!
